The quality of the distance learning connections has improved to true real time. They have been able to connect four computers in every classroom and have set up computer labs in all of their schools. They are able to provide online training for their teachers.Every student in Sherman ISD is a beneficiary of the E-Rate program. There are 10 buildings, serving approximately 6,300 students, connected to the Internet via a T3 line. This infrastructure has allowed the school district to provide online curriculum resources to approximately 100 at-risk students at their learning center. Because of the infrastructure provide by E-Rate, they are able to provide web casting/conferencing capabilities in all 625 classrooms within the district.
